Our children said a fond farewell to the Chinese visitors this afternoon after wowing us with their talents! The farewell assembly resulted in hugs and tears a-plenty! What a fabulous experience for Westwood Primary School. We have made memories this week that will stay with us for a very long time. Huge thanks to our host families – without you, this would not have been possible. Thank you for all your efforts, they have been much appreciated by us, the children and most of all, the Chinese parents! Have a great weekend. 🙂
Tonight the parents all pulled together to create a fabulous buffet and party for our children! We had an abundance of food and dancing as we all enjoyed our last night together. Thank you to everyone who made it such a special night. We looked through the photographs taken throughout the week from each family. What a lot of memories we have made!
As part of our after school activity plan, the Chinese students and their host families enjoyed a trip to a local trampoline centre! Everyone had a fabulous time, as you can see from some the red faces in these pictures…
This afternoon we got hot and sweaty at the local leisure centre. We took part in a host of activities which were thoroughly enjoyed by all! Take a look…
In classes today, the children have been designing and making their own fruit cocktails, practising times tables and thinking about proportions when drawing their own self portraits!
This morning we welcomed our friends from Fushan Road and Yong’an Primary School. They are enjoying some English lessons and seem to be having fun in our wildlife area at playtimes.
Mr Masson has been giving some handwriting lessons and Mrs Mills took over the year 6 classroom to teach some watercolour painting skills.
